Break Bulk Cargo
Break bulk cargo refers to goods that are loaded, transported, and unloaded individually rather than in containers or bulk form. These goods are typically packed in crates, drums, bags, pallets, or other unitized loads, making them distinct from containerized or bulk cargo.
Historically, break bulk shipping was the standard method before containerization revolutionized the industry. However, it remains crucial for transporting oversized, heavy, or irregularly shaped cargo that cannot fit into standard shipping containers.
